Texting and Driving - Is It as Dangerous as We Think?

The National Safety Council recently released a report indicating that 40,000 people died as a result of motor vehicle accidents in 2016.  This is a 6% increase from the prior year, and the most since 2007.
 
TEXTING AND DRIVING – IS IT AS DANGEROUS AS WE THINK?
 
Of course it is!   It isn’t just texting, though – the availability of a multitude of apps makes it more difficult than ever to keep our eyes off our devices.  Authorities believe, however, that failing to wear seat belts, driving while intoxicated, and speeding may contribute to the increase in fatalities more than anything else.
