$125 K Awarded After Rear-End Cras

Lauren M. Feldewert, 33, was awarded a settlement of $125,000 as a result of being rear-ended by former Lake St. Louis resident John Hearn Jr. in April 2011. Feldewert suffered injuries to her neck, back and both hips that left her unable to rearend-accident-personal-injury-dhattorneyssleep or work without pain.

The 2007 collision occurred while Feldewert was attempting to make a left turn onto Gascony Drive going westbound on Veterans Memorial Parkway.

Fedewert’s attorney, Candice R. Burke of Coyne, Cundiff & Hillemann in Lake St. Louis, said the issue at trial wasn’t liability but the type of medical treatment the plaintiff was provided, prolotherapy injections and chiropractic care.

The jury ruled on Oct. 9, the trial’s third day. Defense attorney Meg Fowler of HeplerBroom in St. Louis said she was “disappointed with the result, [but] it could have been worse.”
